Welded beams or welded profiles...
Welded beams/ welded profiles are synonymous to composite profiles. They are formed by steel plates, connected together by submerged arc welds. We can manufacture a single part of up to 100 tons, in accordance to the quality required by the standards ASTM-A-36; ASTM-A-572 GR-50 and ASTM-A-588 or Usi-SAC-350.
The factory welded profiles is equipped with two equal high tech lines. Using the submerged welding process arc type "twin arc", "tandem arc" or single arc.

Quality – the equipment used for manufacturing our welded profiles are stationary-type, where the profiles move to different stages of the process. This system is designed to produce a better quality welded profile due to the use of production line rollers which move the steel plates around the factory allowing us to provide better straightening and contention and avoiding the notorious warpage issue resulting from regular continuous welds. By becoming a FAM Steel partner, our client can rest assured for he will be working with a company that possesses two state-of-the-art CNC lines. Each line is capable of assembling, welding and straightening using only one machine. Our workforce is highly trained and experienced. FAM Steel is renowned for quality and reliability since 1986.

The welded beams may be equipped with stud bolt, transformed into composite beams, when used with concrete. Metallic beams for bridges are a good example of a composite beam. The welded beam produced by FAM Steel may be supplied with stud bolts at its length, with cuts and groves, holes or even with blasting and painting. In this case, some single parts can go straight to your construction site, substantially reducing shipment costs, increasing speed of construction and advancing deadlines.

Built following the geometry for high grade imported rolled profiles. It is an adaptation of foreign projects, utilizing an “I”-type welded beam instead of:
“W”-type American profiles in sizes which are not produced in Brazil
Asian profiles in general.
IP, IPE or IPN-type European profiles
Asian profiles in general.

VS beam – welded beam, narrow geometry compared to its height.
CVS beam – welded column-beam, intermediate geometry when compared to VS and CS types.
CS beam – welded column, where height and width are similar.
VSM beam – profiles where one flange is thicker than the other.
PS beam – Special welded profile, according to your engineer’s project.
